The competitors awoke to clear, sunny skies in Sunday morning, and many UV-battered bodies made there to The Ranch Wake Park for the first stop of the all-new Nautique Cable Series.

The Newbie Boys and Girls were first off the dock. For the boys, Riley Dillon followed up his performance behind the boat with another first-place finish on the cable. On the girls side, Becca Ballantyne took her passes to seal her victory. The female wakeskaters were up next, and Ally Boothroyd led the way to the top of the podium followed by Jess Woolsey and Erika Langman. Mitch Lowry, Jordan Long and Amanda Newhouse were the top finishers in Amateur Men's Wakeboard, Amateur Men's Wakeskate and Amateur Women's Wakeboard respectively.

Everyone in attendance was in for treat in the afternoon as a combination of peer pressure and pride came together to form the new OG Division. Requirements of being over the age of 27, and holding down a typical 9-to-5 job limited the number of riders, but Sean Fleming, Mike Case, Travis Tedford, Neil Brown, Dan Hughes and Jay Poole all showed they were still up to the challenge. In the end, Neil Brown proved that he has barely missed a beat since the end of his competition days.

With the OG Division wrapped, the stage was set for the Open Men and Women. The male wakeskaters put on an absolute clinic, and Braden Ioi showed exactly what 100+ sets on the cable already this season can do for your riding. Ioi stomped his runs, making the most technical tricks look completely stock. Jordan Sullivan and Vince Whiteman rounded out the podium. The male wakeboarders were out in full force. Four heats hit the water, and when the dust settled Jordy Lavery, Gavin Hicks, Drew Austin and Christian Primrose made it through the the finals. Coming off of an 18-hour trip back for the Pro Tour stop in Missouri, Christian Primrose wasn't able to stick his last trick off the kicker which left the battle between Hicks and Austin. Gavin had a solid run, but Drew proved exactly why he earned the Ontario Cable Rider of the Year title with buttery tricks on the obstacles and an arsenal of air tricks. The female wakeboarders rounded out the day, and Ally Boothroyd narrowly edged out Leslie Sparkes to claim her second, first-place finish of the day.

Overall the entire weekend was an unbelievable success. Nothing would have been possible without the support from the sponsors and the dedication from the riders and families who took the time out of their weekend to compete. We'll see you all in two weeks at Sarnia Boarder Pass!
