Lot’s going on at the SBC office these days. Design for the new Buyers’ Guide issue is well under way which means a few of things; long hours at the office trying to get the last pieces of overdue content together, enduring eye strain from staring at a computer screen for 10-12 hours a day, the mass consumption of energy drinks (props to Monster and Red Bull) and logging lots of hours in the design and production department. The production staff at SBC Media all share one large office, which means lots of banter back and forth. While it is the creative centre for the entire company, I like to also think of it as the nexus of the lewd joke universe. I find I measure my words very carefully when I spend time in the production department, because one careless phrase or even word can get immediately spun into some kind of homoerotic insult. I guess it pays testament to the imaginative minds there; not only can these guys design some amazing magazines, they can craft some truly astonishing jokes and insults.

In other SBC news, the office dog count is on the rise. Things are obviously pretty chill around here so bringing a dog in to work is no big deal. As of late there’s been two new additions to the SBC family; Milo, a Beagle-Pug cross and Farmer, a Golden Retriever. Farmer is one desk over from me and provides some good dog-therapy when work gets stressful.

Garry Munce from Sattelyte and Dan “Ginger” Hughes from Redbutton Creative came by for a visit the other and to drop off a copy of the new Sattelyte team video, The Gun Under My Pillow. It’s a great video with lots of killer riding from the Sattelyte team and a stacked “Friends” section as well. Dan is just in the process of getting the final credits wrapped so the video should be available at a shop near you very soon.
